Moderator visits Lochgilphead for Rededication of Renovated Church Hall
Rt Rev Lorna Hood, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, visited Lochgilphead on Sunday 15th December for the reopening and rededication of the newly refurbished Church Hall. The Minister, Rev Hilda Smith, led the service, and the Moderator preached. In her sermon, the Moderator spoke of the hope which Advent brings – hope of a society where people “will neither harm nor destroy”, and where “nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war any more”. After the service, the congregation moved to the Hall, where the minister thanked the many people who had worked so hard to bring about the renovation, creating a wonderful new resource for use by the congregation and by the community of Lochgilphead.
